Amazon will rankle short story writers with changes to Kindle Unlimited

Publishers Weekly reports on changes Amazon is making to its Kindle Unlimited “all you can eat” eBook subscription service. Now Amazon is going to pay authors based on each page read. (This is bound to rankle the short story writers who were cleaning up under the old “10% read for a full share” system.)

What exactly constitutes a “page” when it comes to reflowable text? I know. I know. Amazon will produce a formula similar to what it uses to determine the amount added to the monthly KDP Select global fund from which Unlimited authors are paid their shares.
