I say publishers\u00a0shouldn&#8217;t pick on digital publishing until they address the long decline of the paperback and hard cover book. The last few traditionally bound\u00a0books\u00a0I&#8217;ve purchased from traditional\u00a0publishing houses had various &#8220;errors&#8221; including typos and were plagued by an\u00a0overall fragile physical book construction that barely survived the first reading. (The spine split on one and was severely damaged on the other.) I still have several serviceable paperbacks on my bookshelves that were printed over 40 years ago, so I&#8217;ve seen quality.<\/p>\n<p>It makes more sense that the publishing industry be\u00a0concerned with what <strong>readers<\/strong> want. Publishers have proven that their true motivations (See <strong>Apple<\/strong> price-fixing conspirators for clarification) have more to do with jacking up their prices than providing affordable, quality products.
