What was starting to look like a <a title=\"Some background on the deals...\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ebookrumors.com\/?p=3792\" target=\"_self\">coalition of Davids<\/a> formed to compete directly with the eBook retail Goliath has suddenly turned into a <em><strong>love-in<\/strong><\/em>. (I&#8217;m just being a smartass here. I really couldn&#8217;t be happier for the eBook Revolution&#8230;) Read the press release <strong><a title=\"Amazon Wises Up\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smashwords.com\/press\/release\/16\" target=\"_self\">here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We reported <a title=\"What we said...\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ebookrumors.com\/?p=3792\" target=\"_self\"><strong>earlier<\/strong><\/a> that Indie author and small publisher platform, <strong><a title=\"Smashwords\" href=\"http:\/\/www.smashwords.com\" target=\"_self\">Smashwords<\/a><\/strong> had inked distribution deals with <strong>Sony eBook Store<\/strong>,<strong> Barnes and Noble<\/strong> and <strong>Shortcovers<\/strong>, in what looked like a monster eBook distribution group designed to compete directly with Amazon and the Kindle. Well,\u00c2\u00a0if you can believe this, Amazon has joined them.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s called a democratizing of eBook distribution, where all of the involved members will clear virtual shelf space for Smashword&#8217;s growing list of Indie\u00c2\u00a0titles. It&#8217;s a win-win situation for all.
