According to MediaBistro’s GalleyCat tech blog GigaOM is taking a step into digital publishing with its own imprint called GigaOM Books.

Google settles French publishing dispute.

PaidContent reports on Google ending a six-year legal dispute with French publishers and authors that will allow it to sell digital versions of out of print books.

Print-on-demand technology still in the game.

The New York Times has an article entitled “The Antidote to e-Books” that details a sidebar to the whole eBook Revolution. In this case, Indie author Clare Dickens published her book using the print-on-demand technology, The Espresso Book Machine. Book Expo America Optimistic

Reuters reports on Book Expo America in New York where publishers, book sellers and authors took on an excited and optimistic tone to discuss a year of change for the publishing industry.

B&N says DOJ’s Apple anti-trust lawsuit will hurt book sellers and buyers.

According to this Reuters article, Barnes and Noble believes the Department of Justice anti-trust lawsuit against Apple and 5 major publishers will only hurt booksellers and book buyers.
