Tablets and Dedicated eReaders struggle for supremacy.

CNN has a story suggesting that dedicated eBook Readers are feeling the heat from Tablets. There is no doubt that tablets might be outselling dedicated eBook Readers like Nook, Kobo and Kindle, but they will never replace them. While it is true that tablets offer multimedia performance, including eBook reading–eBook reading is one thing that tablets do not do well.

Great for the kids, and plenty of adopters have gone for tablets for that “all in one” experience, but the real readers in the pack will come blinking and squinting back to E Ink. It is true, tablets display magazines and large format, illustrated publications superbly, but you would rarely read either of those for hours at a time.

Tech Gurus” have been trying to read the last rites for dedicated eReaders since the first Nook Color eReader (tablet) hit the market. Unless the displays on tablets offer E Ink options, then both devices will be on the market for a long time to come.
