Publishers call Library eBook Loans “Lost Profits”

Publishers continue to struggle with the eBook Revolution, according to a Wired story. The COVID-19 pandemic’s enforced isolation rules have turned readers onto eBooks in a serious way.

This has put library eBook titles in high demand and that puts publishers in a funk as they call such activity a “profit killer.”

Sad that we’re destined for another dispute between them and libraries, when all they really have to do is come up with a new business model to suit the future of publishing. They have to evolve.
