GoodeReader reports that a US library is asking Indie authors to submit their eBook titles for inclusion in their catalog. This has to be the result, in part, to the high prices and unfair lending terms demanded in contracts with many of the major publishing houses.

Broadcast Newsroom cites Simba Information’s “Trade E-Book Publishing 2012” report that says eBook use among US adults has risen from 17.2% to 24.5%.
The post suggests 50 Shades of Gray is a possible cause, but let’s not forget the millions of other titles from established, new and Indie authors who have adopted the eBook Revolution.

Apple attempts to obstruct justice.
MacWorld offers the latest on Apple’s attempts to obstruct and delay the anti-trust lawsuit levered against the company by the US Department of Justice. The iPad maker declares that settlements arranged between the DOJ and Apple’s co-conspirators penalize Apple (who did not settle) before the company gets a fair day in court.
How about consumers getting a fair price for an eBook? Apple’s got to stop defending their illegal actions and start selling eBooks at a fair price. They are obstructing the entire eBook Revolution.

Apple continues to defend its price-fixing ways in a TechSpot story that says the iPad maker is calling the Department of Justice eBook settlement “unfair” and “unlawful.”

The Japan Times says relative newcomer to the eBook Revolution, Rakuten, is giving Amazon.com a run for the money in the Japanese eBook market with the release of their Rakuten Kobo Touch.  Amazon has plans to bring Kindle to a market that is predicted will be hotly contested.
