Stephen King plans fan manipulation as part of Joyland release!

BBC News reports on Stephen King’s next novel being a major manipulation of his loyal readers where his book Joyland will be released in paper form only at first saying: “we’re going to hold off on e-publishing this one for the time being.” He gives his reason as having to do with loving paper books when he was a kid. (I wonder if he liked the rising price of paper books when he was a kid, too.)

This plan will force his fans to purchase the paper version or go fish. It’s not nice to fool with loyal readers.

What do you think? Nostalgia, cash grab or is he toadying up to the publishers?

It doesn’t matter which format it’s released in. A book’s a book. Don’t get crazy about it, if you like Stephen King, it shouldn’t matter.
