Walter Cronkite: 1916-2009

Walter Cronkite was a consummate news professional: perhaps the last of his breed. “The Most Trusted Man in America” helped to shape this new media that we’re bending out of true; that we’re beaming around the world and now reading and viewing on all manner of space age gadget and gizmo.

I have missed his impartiality.

CNN has an excellent article on his passing here.

Let me be real. All these reporters are scratching each others’ back in front of the rest of us all the time so that they want us to praise them. What did Mr. Cronkite achieve other than talking about others’ work and events in front of the technology developed by genius people in this world? To me, the man who invented parking meter is more valuable than this or any other reporter. They are turning this world in wrong direction by having a life in expensive suits and eating all of the money earned by the rest. If we all work like reporters then we still are talking about how we’re trapping animals in the jungle.

I have always thought that Keith Obermann was Walter Cronkite in drag.
