GoodeReader has an interesting post on the future of publishing, where independent bookstores are finally making the attempt to join the eBook Revolution, in this case, by adopting Espresso (print while you wait) Book Machines.
I used to be certain this was the future, and it may still hold, but I begin to think they dragged their feet too long. With eBooks and eBook Readers being embraced, and coming to dominate publishing, is it too late for the print while you wait machines?

As the author of the GoodEReader.com article on the Espresso Book Machine, I, too, was surprised by the announcement that On Demand had partnered with the ABA. I, for one, do not envision the day that I opt to go to a book store to print out a hard copy of a book. I do see this as a more environmentally friendly option to the current damage that shipping and printing books leads to, so perhaps distribution sites spread throughout the country rather than one printing house that makes every copy of a book?
