High eBook prices drive eBook Piracy.

CanadianBusiness offers a story on unreasonable eBook pricing. It’s something we’ve talked about since the beginning of the revolution. The big publishers have to drop their prices or encourage eBook Piracy. Nobody buys their story that an eBook costs just as much to produce as a paperback.

Barnes and Noble to launch new tablet.

Barnes and Noble is set to launch a new Tablet according to TabTimes (and others) after B&N called a news conference for November 7 in New York. This move was predicted the second Amazon’s cheaper ($199) Fire Tablet hit the market where B&N’s $249 NookColor had enjoyed debated top dog status for months.

A $189 tablet from Epesitec.

Liliputing says tech company Epesitec is releasing a 7-inch, full color tablet priced to sell at $189. This price is clearly intended as a shot across the bow of Amazon’s new $199 Kindle Fire tablet. It remains to be seen if Epesitec’s android device can compete.
