Thanks Jorgen for this link to a story at Publishers Weekly about Barnes and Noble’s test marketing print books bundled with eBooks. The deal should start sometime in the next 60 to 90 days and involves selling eBook editions of titles at serious discounts when customers buy regularly priced print books. They’re experimenting with the …

Experiment in DRM-Free eBooks
Thanks Jorgen for this link to a story at boingboing.net about author David Pogue’s experiment where he released a DRM-free eBook to see if the unlocked eBook would have an impact on overall sales of that title. The results were what we’ve been saying all along. A locked eBook only punishes paying customers, yah?

eBook Price War Approaching
A story over at Unthinkable has analysts predicting an eBook price war between Borders and Barnes & Noble as the two latecomers vie for position in the eBook Revolution. Doom and Gloom from Ireaderreview
Jorgen dropped off another link, this time to a somewhat gloomy article at Ireaderreview about the ‘value perception’ of eBooks dropping to ZERO. Give the article a read. I think the author jumps to several conclusions that could be vigorously debated. For instance, there is no real discussion in the piece about how we determine the ‘actual value’ …

The Scourge of Piracy
Jorgen stopped by to direct us to this article at techdirt.com debunking some of the myths that surround digital content piracy and file sharing. It’s an excellent piece that suggests eBook piracy might not be the bad thing publishers want us to believe it is. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Stop …
